About the Artwork:
Masari Lisa reimagines Leonardo da Vinci’s iconic Mona Lisa through a modern commentary on wealth, value, and cultural influence. The familiar portrait is layered with torn financial certificates, floating currency illustrations, and playful cartoon elements, transforming a symbol of classical fine art into a contemporary reflection on money, power, and status.
The juxtaposition of historic portraiture with financial imagery challenges viewers to consider how society measures value today—whether through art, wealth, influence, or perception. The calm expression of the Mona Lisa remains unchanged, while the surrounding environment introduces a chaotic world of currency and commerce, suggesting the tension between timeless beauty and modern materialism.
By remixing one of the most recognizable artworks in history, Masari Lisa invites viewers to question the evolving relationship between culture, money, and artistic legacy.
Edition: One-of-one original artwork.
